Cover Reveal!

Welcome back!

I'm still busy editing Forlorn. It's been a slow process... But I want to give you all a good book, so it's worth it. I was supposed to publish this blog last week, but better late than never, right? So now I present to you, (as promised) the big reveal! Forlorn's cover art!

My sister illustrated it for me and it is beautiful! She's quite an artist!

I can't provide a publishing date for my book yet. As I said above, things are slow. I am trying to get it out this year like I said I would, and I'll keep you all up to date as possible. For now, expect to see Forlorn published before the year is out.

Thank you all so much for reading!

Book Review & An Announcement!

Welcome my fabulous readers!

Has it really been a month since my last post?! Well, I assure you it was not from me being lazy, but extremely busy! Aside from editing Forlorn, touching up the cover art, and school starting up again (I'm a home school art teacher!), I finished reading another book. This post is a mash up between a book review and an announcement, so hold on to your hats! (I'm starting with the review.)

"Significance" by Shelly Crane

Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal Romance, Fantasy

It's been a bad year for seventeen year old Maggie. Her mom left, her dad's depressed, her boyfriend dumped her, and she's graduating,  but plans for collage were tossed out the window.

Thinking her life will continue going in this downward spiral, Maggie's life changes when she saves the life of a guy named Caleb. Sparks fly when they touch, and not figuratively either. They imprint, their souls choosing the other to spend the rest of their life with. Now happy, Maggie is accepted into his family, and learns of what she is becoming... And of a rival family who's determined to take it all away. With such a hatred between the two families, will Maggie and Caleb be safe? Or will they lose each other forever?

This book had so much potential, but was brought down by heavy "Twilight" influences. Instead of creating her own story, Crane rewrote Stephanie Meyer's best selling novel, but ended up with something not nearly as good. The author even admitted the influence within her story, which I could not help but find hilarious.

I had problems finishing this book, for after the big conflict was resolved, the story didn't know when to quit. The ending would have made an acceptable beginning for the second novel in the series. Despite everything, this book had some interesting aspects, however it cannot sway me to read the next one.

Significance wasn't horrible, but if I wanted to read Twilight, I would pick up my sparkling copy off my book shelf. Out of five stars, I give this book two.

If you didn't get your fill of Twilight yet, then this is the perfect book for you! It wasn't my cup of tea, but don't let my opinion keep you from reading it! You may even love it.

IN OTHER NEWS, It's time to share my announcement! The cover art for Forlorn is now finished! YAY! I'll reveal the cover on here next week. It is wonderful! I can't wait to show you all.

Thank you all for reading! See you next week, but until then, keep on reading!

I Thought I Better Write Something

Hello and welcome back to my blog!

It's been a while since I last wrote anything, so I'm back! I haven't had much time to blog between writing/editing Forlorn and life in general. Forlorn is coming along nicely and I hope to give you all a sneak peak of my book here soon, but we will see how it goes!

Before I started going over it again, I had my mom read it. At that time, I was not happy with it and in a depressed slump that I felt there was no escaping from. It was missing stuff, but I had lost the inspiration to complete it. When my mom told me that it was a great story, but needed some work, it helped encourage me to look at it again.

I knew what it was missing too, so when I ran my ideas by her, my mom told me that those were the things she was hoping to find in Forlorn, and felt that it needed these thing to become a great book. She helped me find a new appreciation for it, and I'm a little over halfway done rewriting it now. I would still like to publish it in September, but the date may be moved to October if it takes much longer.

This new appreciation also inspired me to make a quick sketch for the story. I used only a tiny piece of lead that fell out of my mechanical pencil. Hey, I didn't want to waste it!

After sketching this, I realized that I still need to get a cover made! I made the cover art for my Witch In The Woods trilogy, but this time around I decided to ask my sister if she wanted to make the cover for Forlorn. She happily took on the challenge! My sister is an amazing artist, so I can't wait to see what she does! I hope to do a cover reveal sometime in August!

Before I go, I was asked to do an interview, on Katherine Dell's website! The link is below if you'd like to read it. Don't forget to browse the other interviews and articles on her website!

Thank you all for checking out my blog! I'll hopefully write again soon, but until then, keep on reading!

Here's The Update I Promised!

Greetings, my lovely readers!

Last week I said I had an update about my latest novel, so today I'm finally telling!

Drum roll please!

My novel, which I was originally calling 'Desolation' is now titled 'Forlorn'! But That's not the only news I have for you, so hold onto your hats! I'm planning on releasing my book in September! I am currently still editing/re-writing Forlorn, but I am working hard to get it out in time! However, this publication date isn't set in stone yet, so I'll keep you posted if there should be any changes.

Aside from that, I still need to figure out what I'm doing for a cover, whether I'll buy a pre-made one or just illustrate one myself. Whatever I decide to do, I'll will reveal the cover on here beforehand, like I did with my last two books.

But in other news, today is Indie Pride Day! Many indie author and readers of indie books are posting pictures of themselves today with their indie books! If you're up for it, join in the fun on twitter or Facebook! Just post a picture of yourself with your favorite indie book and use the hashtags #IndieBooksBeSeen and #IndiePrideDay!

Thanks for reading everyone! Happy Indie Pride Day!

The Big Sale!

Welcome readers!

Today's the big day! Ready for my sales pitch?
All my ebooks are on sale for 99 cents, starting today! Yesterday, actually, but today is the 'Official' day!

I would be so grateful if you all could help me by spreading the word, it would truly mean a lot! Also, I just recently realized that my Summer Solstice Sale coincides with Father's Day, so Happy Early Father's Day to all you awesome dads out there, including my Daddy Dude! I love you muchness.
(Does anyone know if he's read this? Do I still have to find the perfect Father's Day card?)

Anyway, I hope you all enjoy your weekend, Father's Day, my Summer Solstice Sale, and the crazy hot weather that just appeared out of no where. Literally! I was just wearing pants this past week, freezing in the beautiful Colorado weather that I should be accustomed to, (I only lived here my whole life) but today I'm dying in the blazing hot 90 degree weather. Where did the rain go?

Thank you all for reading and if you're into it, enjoy my fabulous paranormal trilogy this fine weekend! I'll provide the links down below. *Wink, wink*

Have a great day, and as always, keep on reading!

A Summer Solstice Sale!

Hello my fantastic readers!

Guess what? I am having a Summer Solstice Sale this weekend! All my ebooks will be 99 cents on Amazon and the Barnes & Noble website! (Links are below)

If you love witches, curses, and suspense, please check out my series! If you're not a big fan of paranormal fiction, but know someone who is, please spread the word! The sale begins on June 19 and ends on the 21st!

I also thought I would give you all a quick update on my latest novel, which is currently called Desolation. I have found a renewed interest for the story and have recently begun some editing! I plan on purchasing a pre-made book cover for it once I have completely settled on a title, and a synopsis written. This project is now going very well, for I have come out of my depressed slump and started giving my poor, malnourished manuscript the TLC it so desperately needed.

More updates will be on the way, but for the time being, keep reading & enjoy my Summer Solstice sale this weekend!
