Cover Reveal!

Welcome back!

I'm still busy editing Forlorn. It's been a slow process... But I want to give you all a good book, so it's worth it. I was supposed to publish this blog last week, but better late than never, right? So now I present to you, (as promised) the big reveal! Forlorn's cover art!

My sister illustrated it for me and it is beautiful! She's quite an artist!

I can't provide a publishing date for my book yet. As I said above, things are slow. I am trying to get it out this year like I said I would, and I'll keep you all up to date as possible. For now, expect to see Forlorn published before the year is out.

Thank you all so much for reading!

Book Review & An Announcement!

Welcome my fabulous readers!

Has it really been a month since my last post?! Well, I assure you it was not from me being lazy, but extremely busy! Aside from editing Forlorn, touching up the cover art, and school starting up again (I'm a home school art teacher!), I finished reading another book. This post is a mash up between a book review and an announcement, so hold on to your hats! (I'm starting with the review.)

"Significance" by Shelly Crane

Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal Romance, Fantasy

It's been a bad year for seventeen year old Maggie. Her mom left, her dad's depressed, her boyfriend dumped her, and she's graduating,  but plans for collage were tossed out the window.

Thinking her life will continue going in this downward spiral, Maggie's life changes when she saves the life of a guy named Caleb. Sparks fly when they touch, and not figuratively either. They imprint, their souls choosing the other to spend the rest of their life with. Now happy, Maggie is accepted into his family, and learns of what she is becoming... And of a rival family who's determined to take it all away. With such a hatred between the two families, will Maggie and Caleb be safe? Or will they lose each other forever?

This book had so much potential, but was brought down by heavy "Twilight" influences. Instead of creating her own story, Crane rewrote Stephanie Meyer's best selling novel, but ended up with something not nearly as good. The author even admitted the influence within her story, which I could not help but find hilarious.

I had problems finishing this book, for after the big conflict was resolved, the story didn't know when to quit. The ending would have made an acceptable beginning for the second novel in the series. Despite everything, this book had some interesting aspects, however it cannot sway me to read the next one.

Significance wasn't horrible, but if I wanted to read Twilight, I would pick up my sparkling copy off my book shelf. Out of five stars, I give this book two.

If you didn't get your fill of Twilight yet, then this is the perfect book for you! It wasn't my cup of tea, but don't let my opinion keep you from reading it! You may even love it.

IN OTHER NEWS, It's time to share my announcement! The cover art for Forlorn is now finished! YAY! I'll reveal the cover on here next week. It is wonderful! I can't wait to show you all.

Thank you all for reading! See you next week, but until then, keep on reading!
