The Holidays and Characters

Hello readers,

It was the most wonderful time of the year, and I had absolutely no motivation to start writing my next book, nor get this blog post out on time. I blame Christmas... And now procrastination, because I wanted to get this post out last year.

I was just too excited for the holidays! So I had decided to take a little vacation and enjoy the festivities. However, I also wanted to stay productive as well.

As you know, my book Witch in the Woods was included in a couple giveaways, (I'm counting that as staying active) and I decided to seize my bout of procrastination/no motivation, and turn it into a time of "Relaxed Productivity".

Here's my story: right after Halloween, I started working on my latest project 'Desolation', which will be a Young Adult/New Adult, fantasy/sci fi novel.

Well, I had hit a road bump... It felt more like a flat tire. This is COMPLETELY different than my beloved Witch In The Woods series, and I did not like my characters for this new writing project. The characters I did like were better suited for another story, that I might write in the future. I had a problem on my hands.

That is my conclusion, at least it worked pretty well for me. I took my time creating these new characters, and guess what? I actually like them! The key: I didn't just hit my head against the wall for hours trying to come up with characters. I managed to stay sane by taking it easy and letting them come to me. I can work with these people. I took my time, and got to know them gradually. Because of them, writing this book is a fun thought once again. These characters are much better suited for this story.

I fully plan on keeping you all updated on this writing project and the characters. That's all I have to say for now, but before I end this post, I'll leave you with this update: I already have nearly 20,000 words in the rough draft! It's a scary and exciting experience, and is completely different from Witch In The Woods! So when the time comes, expect a different writing style and everything! ;D

Thanks for reading! Write on, and read more indie books!

Evil Moms!

Good day, everyone!

I am happy to show you the latest Listopia rankings for 'Witch In The Woods'!

Witch In The Woods made it to third place in:

Best Books You've Probably Never Read

Great Paranormal Indie Books Everyone Should Know About

And second place in:

Only Available on Kindle/E-Reader

Now here is what I am really exited for! Witch In The Woods is first place in:

Favorite Fantasy Fiction

Best YA Fiction (paranormal, dystopia, fantasy, etc)

Cheap (and good) Kindle Books

(Here's the one that tickles me)

Evil Moms!

Yay! First for Evil Moms!

Aside from that, we finished going over Clearly's Corruption, and I just sent it to my cousin yesterday, who is a professional editor, because she's awesome! Woo hoo! I also sent one to my mom, and last night she found a typo. I decided to fix it this morning, but here is what's strange. The typo is not in my document! Well, it was, but it wasn't!

I can only chalk up the typo my mom showed me as a dream, because this morning, instead of finding a half written sentence that should have been deleted, the typo actually turned out to be one word I forgot to put in. In other words, my brain is malfunctioning and soon you will probably see me running down the street dressed as a leprechaun, arms flailing and yelling, "The squid wants to eat my brain! Flee for your lives, or the pineapple will get you too!" Oh, the things I have to look forward to...

That's all for today, but come back soon! I will be posting again before too long!

Cover Art Update!

Welcome back!

I am almost finished with the cover art for Clearly's Corruption. It is all drawn out and shaded, and now all I have to do is get it in the computer and edit it! But I don't want to leave you all hanging, so here is a preview of the cover! Or an extreme close up...

What are your thoughts? Does it peak your interest?

During all this editing, and drawing out the cover, I realized that I haven't written a synopsis for Clearly's Corruption yet. Darn it... Never the less, I shall have one written out soon. It is probably the hardest part to write, because you are condensing your 50,000 word novel into a 140-300 word paragraph, yet keep it interesting enough to hook readers.

I know this was a short post, but short is often better! Now I have to go write a synopsis, but I'll have another post up next week!

Cover Art!

Hello!

I have started working on the cover art for Clearly's Corruption and with any luck, I'll  have it done by next Monday. I am staying with the silhouette theme of the first book, and when I am done, I shall post the picture on here!

I have been telling everyone that I wanted to get the cover done this month, and when I saw the date, I had a panic attack! "Holy cow, what have I been doing all month?!"

What have I been doing all this time?!

Editing. That is what I've been doing... Editing.

Speaking of which, I have realized that it is a big fat contradiction, for it is going both fast and very slow! It's only going slow because I have been taking stuff out and adding things in. Basic editing...

In other news, Witch In The Woods has topped another list on Listopia!

Ebooks Under Five Dollars

If you have a Goodreads account, feel free to vote on the lists! Here is a link to the other lists my book is on, if you are interested in checking them out!

Witch In The Woods > Lists

Now I'm not saying that you must vote for Witch In The Woods. I'm just giving you all a gentile nudge to peruse the lists... (In hopes that you will vote... For my book... Shh!)

I promise that soon I will post the cover art on here! Thanks for reading!
