A Summer Solstice Sale!

Hello my fantastic readers!

Guess what? I am having a Summer Solstice Sale this weekend! All my ebooks will be 99 cents on Amazon and the Barnes & Noble website! (Links are below)

If you love witches, curses, and suspense, please check out my series! If you're not a big fan of paranormal fiction, but know someone who is, please spread the word! The sale begins on June 19 and ends on the 21st!

I also thought I would give you all a quick update on my latest novel, which is currently called Desolation. I have found a renewed interest for the story and have recently begun some editing! I plan on purchasing a pre-made book cover for it once I have completely settled on a title, and a synopsis written. This project is now going very well, for I have come out of my depressed slump and started giving my poor, malnourished manuscript the TLC it so desperately needed.

More updates will be on the way, but for the time being, keep reading & enjoy my Summer Solstice sale this weekend!

The Holidays and Characters

Hello readers,

It was the most wonderful time of the year, and I had absolutely no motivation to start writing my next book, nor get this blog post out on time. I blame Christmas... And now procrastination, because I wanted to get this post out last year.

I was just too excited for the holidays! So I had decided to take a little vacation and enjoy the festivities. However, I also wanted to stay productive as well.

As you know, my book Witch in the Woods was included in a couple giveaways, (I'm counting that as staying active) and I decided to seize my bout of procrastination/no motivation, and turn it into a time of "Relaxed Productivity".

Here's my story: right after Halloween, I started working on my latest project 'Desolation', which will be a Young Adult/New Adult, fantasy/sci fi novel.

Well, I had hit a road bump... It felt more like a flat tire. This is COMPLETELY different than my beloved Witch In The Woods series, and I did not like my characters for this new writing project. The characters I did like were better suited for another story, that I might write in the future. I had a problem on my hands.

That is my conclusion, at least it worked pretty well for me. I took my time creating these new characters, and guess what? I actually like them! The key: I didn't just hit my head against the wall for hours trying to come up with characters. I managed to stay sane by taking it easy and letting them come to me. I can work with these people. I took my time, and got to know them gradually. Because of them, writing this book is a fun thought once again. These characters are much better suited for this story.

I fully plan on keeping you all updated on this writing project and the characters. That's all I have to say for now, but before I end this post, I'll leave you with this update: I already have nearly 20,000 words in the rough draft! It's a scary and exciting experience, and is completely different from Witch In The Woods! So when the time comes, expect a different writing style and everything! ;D

Thanks for reading! Write on, and read more indie books!

Book Review!

Welcome back!

Today I have another book review for you all! This time, I am reviewing a Paranormal Romance.

I read this book back in November last year, so sorry for the late review! Yes, this is the second book in The Alis Mundi Series, called Angel Unchained by Jordana Barber. This isn't my type of book, but it's always good to try new things! Here's the summery:

After a failed attempt on her life, the Aliisian Demon-Djinn Princess, Azriella Caradine, finds herself torn between her duties as timekeeper, maintaining the balance, and the desires of her heart. With her Dragon Guardian husbands near abandonment, Azriella finds her safety in the hands of her dishonest first husband, and her ill (malnourished) Vampire fiance.

Before you gasp and wonder why Azriella has so many husbands, I want to make it clear that she is a Demon-Djinn Princess. Apparently, she can do whatever the hell she wants.

I found this book a little confusing when it comes to who is talking, but other than that, Jordana Barber has a way of painting her characters, making them colorful in the mind's eyes, and creating a intriguing plot.

For those who enjoy paranormal romances, alternate worlds, and sexy men at every turn, you may want to check out this series. Out of five stars, I give this book three.

Thanks for checking out this review! Keep on reading!

A Job From Hell!

Welcome back!

Today I am reviewing the young adult, paranormal romance, A Job From Hell by Jayde Scott.

I found this book on Goodreads! What lured me in was the cover. Yes, I unfortunately do pick my next read based on the covers. Unless I read what the book is about first. Then the cover doesn't matter. (Are any of you buying that?)

The first book in the Ancient Legends series, the cover alone promises an exciting paranormal read! The name tells me it's about a girl, who obviously takes a job, unknowing that her employer is of the paranormal himself! Between the cover and the title, I instantly thought: "Ooo! Maybe her employer is a demon!'
Was that too presumptuous of me? Nah...

Amber goes to Scotland to start a summer job, and once she sets eyes on her employer, (expecting an old rich man, he turns out to be a young sexy one), her fate is sealed. She enters Aidan's deadly world one night when lost in the woods, unknowingly entering a race and winning the prize... One worth killing for. Now the only chance Amber has to make her life go back to normal, is to enter the Otherworld. However, in order to do that, Amber must die...

Sounds like a demon thing, right? Well, I must say that I was a little disappointed to find out that it was just another story about vampires. Despite that fact, I thought the over all story was pretty good. According to Goodreads reviews, people either love it or they hate it. This is what set me apart from them: I didn't love it, nor did I hate it. I liked it. I do think vampires are a bit played out theses days, but Jayde Scott did a good job. The vampire fan girl in me still clings to life!

Out of five stars, I give it three, for it was misleading... If I had known it was about vampires when I picked it up, I am sure I would have given it a different rating.

I recommend this book to those who are looking for a vampire, paranormal romance, where the main character isn't sulking or begging to become a creature of the night. Finally, someone who appreciates their family, sunlight, and eating steak!

Happy reading everyone!
